"Years ago my new lambs were disappearing. I gave Trapper Dan a tour of the farm. Within a few nights he trapped coyote and red fox to help with our problem. He told us to restrain our sheep dog from the trap area while he worked, ooops we forgot and she got trapped. The good news is todays traps are ethical, and although alarmed, we got her out unharmed. Thanks Trapper Dan"

“ I have known Dan for several years and have directly observed how Dan brings tremendous knowledge and passion for the outdoors in the most sincere manner. He embodies integrity and ethics in all that he does. When Dan came to my property to trap some nuisance beavers and muskrats, I not only learned a lot about trapping, but clearly saw that Dan operates in the most environmentally responsible manner.”

“We've partnered with Trapper Dan since 2021, and it's been a true asset to our farm. It brings us peace of mind knowing a skilled trapper is keeping a watch over our land. Dan keeps us well-informed and plays a crucial role in reducing animal-related crop damage. We also deeply appreciate that he puts the wild furs, meats, and other harvests from our abundant wildlife populations to good use. We're grateful for his stewardship and commitment to responsible, respectful land and wildlife management. Dan is a top-notch outdoorsman and a friend to us and our business.”

“I am the Chairman of the Northern Dutchess Rod & Gun Club, Junior Members. I was considering new and different things to do with the group and thought of Dan. The first year, Dan packed up all of his trapping equipment, including lures, tools etc, and came to the clubhouse to give a demonstration. It was immensley popular and informative. Since then, Dan has invited us to his 'trapping shed' for the past 4 years and brought us along to check his trapline and demonstrated the proper and ethical ways to set various traps and retrieving the animals. He stresses the importance, history and ethics of trapping, its traditions and the importance of following the rules and regulations.”

"As an avid outdoorsman I have to confess I knew little of the art of trapping. Only what I learned from watching that show with the folks working their trap lines in Alaska. When I came across Trapper Dan's YouTube site I was immediately pulled in as he is mostly trapping in my backyard, upstate NY! So it turns out you don't have to live in Alaska and have a team of sled dogs!! Not to take credit away from Willie who is clearly a great trapping companion! Love learning about your hobby, keep up the great work."

"Dan approached me for property permission to harvest fur. We have a poultry farm and control of predators can be helpful. I appreciate how Dan described how he would not trap our pets and specifically target raccoons. Dan has been a trusted partner on our property and we appreciate his help, professionalism and communication."

"I’ve known Dan for a couple of years. I first met him at a jr. members meeting at the gun club where he was teaching us about trapping. This is about where I took an interest in trapping. He has been a huge mentor, teaching me and answering any questions I had. This definitely helped grow my passion for trapping, and I’m going into my 3rd season trapping in 2025."

"Thanks for the video. I enjoy the pre season work almost as much as in season, it keeps the blood flowing. I'm a new subscriber and have been trapping for 50 + years, but you can always learn something new from other trappers. I binge watched most all of your videos and I really like the way you present them, keep up the great work."

"For the past few years, we've been working with Trapper Dan to help us manage the predator and pest problems at our farm. Between neighboring farms having livestock loss issues with coyotes, and a growing population of groundhogs, we needed to develop a strategy and program to help maintain an ecosystem that didn't weigh too far in one direction or another. Dan has been monitoring and trapping animals on our land, keeping us informed of his activities and developing an ongoing strategic plan for a sustainable and manageable animal control program. My wife and I are not active hunters or trappers, so we appreciate Dan's expertise and the fact that animal welfare and the sustainable use of fur are Dan's priorities."

"Dan is a dedicated conservationist with a deep respect for the land and the animals he manages. I've allowed him to trap on my property, and he's always been courteous, professional, and transparent about his methods. His knowledge of local wildlife and commitment to ethical practices are evident in everything he does. Dan makes a point to communicate clearly and consistently, keeping me informed witout ever overstepping. I trust him completely and would recommend him to any landowner looking to manage their property responsibly."
